2012 Red, White and Blue Ballot - USA Hockey 1950s All Decade Team

As part of our ongoing celebration of USA Hockey’s 75th anniversary celebration, USA Hockey Magazine will be drawing on our readers’ expertise to help us compile a list of the greatest American players from the past several decades.

Every month, we’ll assemble a cross-section of the greatest forwards, defensemen and goaltenders from each of their respective eras and post them online for you, the reader, to vote on. Each player submission will be accompanied by a brief description of his on-ice accomplishments during that decade to help make voting easier, (since many of us weren’t around when John Matchefts was playing in the 1950s).

You can vote as many times as you’d like, but each person will be only be eligible once a month to be entered in the drawing for consideration  for some great USA Hockey prizes, which will include autographed USA Hockey memorabilia from some of the greatest players in the game.

• Be sure to log in to be eligible to win or create a USA Hockey Magazine ID. (Only email, age and hometown needed)

If you don't already have an ID register here.

1950s

During the 1950s, the United States continued its history of strong showings in international events, claiming silver at the 1950 IIHF World Championship along with a pair of silver medals at the 1952 and 1956 Olympic Winter Games.

In celebration of USA Hockey’s 75th Anniversary, USA Hockey Magazine is asking its readers to vote for the All-Decade Team for the 1950s. Please select only 1 Goaltender, 2 Defensemen and 3 Forwards and submit your ballot for a chance to win an autographed puck from one of the greatest players in USA Hockey history. You can vote as many times as you want but you are only eligible once for the random drawing for one of five pucks given away each month.
